Dr. Anter Gonzales is board-certified in Pediatrics and Sports Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of the East in the Philippines, serving the community in clerkships and medical missions before and after finishing his education there. He completed his Pediatric residency training through Lincoln Medical Center, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, in the Bronx, New York. He completed fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York.
During his fellowship, he served as team physician for Brooklyn College, Kingsborough Community College, SUNY Maritime Football and Lacrosse teams, and Brooklyn PSAL High School football teams. Dr. Gonzales has served as a medical volunteer in various mass participation events, including the NYC Marathon, NYC Triathlon, and a local youth triathlon. A previous multi-athlete himself, Dr. Gonzales’ approach brings a personal and professional connection in sports and dance.
Dr. Gonzales specializes in Non-operative Pediatric Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, and Pediatrics. His areas of interests include sports medicine, concussion management, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and dance medicine. Dr. Gonzales is actively involved in teaching SUNY Downstate’s Orthopaedic, Rehabilitation and Pediatric Residents. He serves as an assistant professor for SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University’s Department of Orthopaedics, and as an attending physician for PSAL’s Brooklyn High School football teams and SUNY Downstate’s Walk-in Injury Clinic.
