Career Day Fun at The Goddard School in Freehold
OIBortho recently had the pleasure of taking part in Career Day at The Goddard School in Freehold, and it was a morning filled with learning, laughter, and lots of great questions. Events like this give us the chance to connect with children and families in a meaningful way while sharing what it means to work in healthcare.
Learning What It Means to Be a Doctor
During Career Day, Dr. Phillips spent the morning with his children and their classmates, giving students a hands-on look at what physicians do every day. He showed them how ACE bandages and Webril are used to help support and protect injured arms and legs. The kids were excited to see real medical supplies and loved learning how doctors help people feel better.
Dr. Phillips also answered many thoughtful and curious questions about being a doctor, such as what a typical day looks like, how long it takes to become a physician, and why helping others is such an important part of the job.
Teaching the Importance of Community
A big part of Dr. Phillips’ message was about working in healthcare and giving back to the community you live in. He talked with the students about how physicians, nurses, teachers, and other professionals all play a role in keeping communities healthy and strong.
At OIBortho, we believe that caring for patients goes beyond the office visit. Being involved in local schools, events, and programs helps us build strong connections throughout Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean Counties, where we are proud to live and work.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Career Day moments like this are a reminder of how powerful it can be to teach and inspire children at a young age. Whether these students choose a future in healthcare or another path, learning about helping others, asking questions, and staying curious can leave a lasting impact.
OIBortho is grateful for opportunities like this to connect with local schools and families. We look forward to continuing to support and serve our communities, both inside and outside the office.
